Biography Jeffrey Lee Urban, 55, of Normal, formerly of Peoria, passed away at 1:16 p.m. on Sunday, January 21, 2007 at home. Jeff was born on June 24, 1951 in Peoria, son of Willard and Jane (Belsterling) Urban. They preceded him in death. Jeff is survived by his son, Jacob Urban of Normal; daughter, Andrea Urban of Bloomington; and two brothers, Tim (Barb) Urban of Defiance, MO and Greg (Sherri) Urban of Dunlap. Jeff was a Federal Police Officer in Washington, DC for several years, before returning to Central Illinois, where he continued his career in law enforcement. At the time of his death, he was a salesman at Dennison Toyota in Bloomington. Jeff enjoyed golfing, fishing, hunting and Chicago Bears football. He was fond of listening to Classic Oldies. Dan Fogelburg was his favorite artist, but “American Pie”, by Don McLean was his favorite song. He enjoyed spending time with his close friend, Helen Edenbaum, and being home with his family or visiting Starved Rock. Jeff’s family is proud of how he enjoyed serving the public and, most importantly, for always being there for his children. He always enjoyed seeing his children and helping them in anyway possible. Jeff was a loveable father and was always in high spirits. He was sincere, intelligent and an amazing person to have in life. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, January 26, 2007 at Unity Church of Peoria at 3117 N. Avalon Place in Peoria, with the Rev. Linda Foreman officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to services at the church. Interment will be held at Springdale Cemetery in Peoria. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice. Arrangements are entrusted to Clary Funeral Consultants in Peoria. |
